Caps for Sale

This week's story was Caps for Sale and today we watched it on You Tube. The students really loved this book this week. They knew every word and acted out the story as we watched it on our Interwrite Board. Watch us acting out part of the story by clicking on the video above.

Here is the link if you would like to watch the story at home:

Caps for Sale

This week, we will be reading Caps for Sale in class. I have posted a YouTube link below. You and your child can watch the story together. Be sure to discuss the main idea as well as characters, setting, and sequence.

I am a scientist.

This week in science, we learned all about what science is and what scientists do. We learned about many different kinds of scientists, such as doctors, architects, engineers, botanists, paleontologists, marine biologists, volcanologists, meteorologists, and many more! After learning about these scientists, we wrote about which kind of scientist we might like to be someday and then drew pictures of ourselves working in that field. The students did a great job! I will post student work soon.

Sam and Mason's 5th Birthday

We celebrated Sam and Mason's 5th birthday at school on Friday. Their dad brought in cupcakes and juice. The kids thought this was "the best day ever"!

We have been learning how to write and identify numbers to 10; count to 20; sort by size, shape, and color; identify 11 basic colors; and identify basic shapes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle).

Just a reminder, we have a post-test over these math skills on Friday, September 9.
