This week in math we have been extending and creating simple patterns. Here are some students showing off patterns they created in class.

CrAzY DaY!

This week is Red Ribbon Week, and in support of it, Highland students were asked to "dress crazy" today. And boy did they dress crazy! Here are a handful of students in our class that really dressed the part!

2nd Graders Visited Us Today

Mrs. Taylor brought her 2nd grade music class to visit us today. They have been practicing African tribal music. They did a great job performing for us!

Highland HERO

Congratulations to Carmen for being our September Highland HERO! Thank you, Carmen, for consistently showing Honesty, Effort, Respect, and Optimism.

We celebrated Landon's birthday on October 17!

Our Teacher's Having a Baby

This week we will be reading several books about babies. We kicked off the week with the book Our Teacher's Having a Baby! The class learned that their teacher really IS having a baby in February, just like the teacher in the book.

The class came up with some very interesting name ideas for Mrs. Morgan's baby boy including Snake, Mr. Morgan, Octopus, Maybe, and Swordfish. I think I may have to keep reading some baby name books to get some other ideas. :O)
