On Friday, we had our spring party and Easter egg hunt! It was wet and cold outside, so we had our hunt inside the classroom. We had so much fun finding hundreds of eggs!

Statue of Liberty
When we learned about American symbols last month, we did a directed drawing activity where we learned how to draw the Statue of Liberty step-by-step. Look at the little artists we have in our class!
Persuasive Letters
We learned all about persuasive letters by reading "I Wanna Iguana". We practiced writing persuasive letters as a class by writing to our principal. The class decided that they wanted to try to persuade Mrs. Mudd to have lunch with them. They promised they would have good manners, sit on their bottoms while they ate, and would eat all their food. They also promised to bring Mrs. Mudd a special treat if she did agree to join them. We invited Mrs. Mudd to read our letter and she agreed to our lunch request! She surprised us when we walked into the cafeteria and saw our lunch table covered with a fancy tablecloth and vases filled with beautiful flowers! Mrs. Morgan baked brownies for us all to enjoy. We then used what we learned to write persuasive letters to our favorite Disney characters at Disney World, requesting an autographed picture from them. Check out our pictures from lunch date with Mrs. Mudd and of our Disney letters. Students should expect to receive their autographed pictures in their mailboxes at home soon!
