Little Red Riding Hood Play
Our blue reading group has been working hard this week on practicing their lines to perform the play Little Red Riding Hood for the class. Today was their big day. They not only performed for our class, but also for three other kindergarten classes. I apologize for the sound. You will need to turn your volume all the way up. (And you will still have to strain to hear it.)
Silent e
We have been learning a lot about silent e lately. Here's a video to help you remember what the silent e does to a word.
When You Add & Subtract with a Pirate
These are a couple classroom favorites! "When You Add with a Pirate" and "When You Subtract with a Pirate" are great songs to help us remember the difference between addition and subtraction.

20 Minute Reading Challenge
Our 20 minute a day reading challenge starts today, March 1! When you read 20 minutes a day, your parents will initial your superhero reading log in your binder. When you read 20 minutes a day for 10 days, you will earn a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut! Students who read 20 minutes every day throughout the month of March, will get to choose one of these new books to KEEP! I am so excited about all the books I found shopping today: Fly Guy, Cam Jansen, The Snowy Day, The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything, Star Wars, Arthur, Curious George, and SO MUCH MORE! Let's do this!
