The Little Mermaid

Our fourth and fifth graders have been working tirelessly on their production of Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr. Because of this, we have been learning about The Little Mermaid and fairy tales this week. We did several Little Mermaid activities throughout the week including reading different versions of the story, watching the Disney movie, and watching our school production of The Little Mermaid. While watching the movie in class on Thursday, students were asked questions throughout and given the task of finding key details that supported the main idea, which was that Ariel wanted to be human. Below you can see some of the students' responses. They did a great job identifying several different supporting details.
