Comparing Surface Area

The question posed today: "Who has a bigger window -- Emma or Andrew?"  This was tough because Emma's was longer but Andrews was taller. Students had access to a variety of measuring tools and had to discover which would be the best for this case. The students figured out that the tiles and cubes were both able to measure the surface area of the windows. (It turns out that Andrew's window was bigger.)
