These are the skills we will be focusing on this week:

*Our Amazing Words this week: bakery, post office, park, fire station, library, chaperone (Students will be introduced to and understand the meaning of these words in order to build oral vocabulary.)

*Math: Numbers Properties 0-10; Students will take their post-test on Friday, Sept. 11! The post-test will cover all the items on the “I Can” statements sent home two weeks ago. (Counting to 10; Counting objects to 10; Identifying numbers 0-10; Identifying groups that are “more than” or “less than” than another group; Writing numbers 1-10)

News & Reminders:

*When completing homework, check your child’s sticker count in his or her agenda book. Remember, when he or she earns 10 stickers inside their agenda book for good behavior, they get to choose an item from the treasure box! Please keep agenda book pages in order so we are able to count stickers easily at school.

*NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 7 due to Labor Day.

*Scholastic order forms are attached to the newsletter today. If you would like to purchase books, please return the order form, with your child’s name on it, and payment to school by Friday, September 11. You can pay with cash or a check. If you are paying with a check, please make the check out to me, Amy Morgan. These books are very inexpensive, compared to book store costs. We earn free books for our classroom when orders are placed.

*Just a tip: When practicing writing letters and numbers at home, make it fun for your child. Instead of using pencil and paper, let them write it in sand or shaving cream.

Have a great week,
