Merry Christmas!

On Friday, the students received Christmas gifts from Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Wyatt. Each student got a Santa hat, a pack of Christmas Silly Bandz, and a package of Christmas stickers. Merry Christmas to a wonderful group of kids!

Polar Express

This week, we have been reading The Polar Express. On Friday, we celebrated with a Polar Express Day! We watched the movie in the morning while drinking hot cocoa (just like in the book). After lunch, we each got our own ticke to ride the Polar Express. We closed our eyes, used our imaginations, and tried to listen for the Polar Express. And wouldn't you know it, soon we all heard the train whistling right outside our classroom! The conductor (Mr. Lindsey) was standing at our door to punch our train tickets. We all boarded and the conductor read the story to us one last time. The illustrations from the book were projected onto a large screen at the front of the train. This was a very memorable day for us!

We all wore pajamas today, just like the characters in The Polar Express.

Kindergarten Christmas Program

Our Kindergartners did a fantastic job singing at Highland's Christmas Program on Thursday night. A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Taylor, Highland music teacher, who organized this event and taught the songs to the students.

Christmas Around the World

Throughout the month of December, our class has been learning about different holidays and traditions celebrated around the world. We found the different countries on maps, colored their flags, and learned about their holiday traditions. On Thursday, we culminated this unit with a "Trip Around the World". We got our suitcases, passports, and plane tickets and traveled to 7 different countries. Parent volunteers led a craft, snack, or game that was associated with that country. Check out pictures from our fun day below.
