Online Addition Practice

In case you are searching for fun ways to practice addition at home, here are a few online addition games that may not pop up right away in Google searches for "addition games".  All three of these websites have several addition games that would be fun practice for your children at home.

Also, if you do not have your child's Mathseeds or Reading Eggs login information, let me know and I will get that to you so he/she can play at home.  These are both wonderful resources but they are really expensive for parent memberships.  However, your child can use the same login information that they use here at school in order to access it at home.

Proud Teacher Moment

Ryan and Casper have been working together every morning on letters and sounds. Ryan gives up free time that he has earned by getting his work done early. When he finishes his work, him and Casper practice letter flash cards. Today Casper was able to correctly identify 50% of his letters!! Great job Casper! We are so proud of you! Also, thank you Ryan for being such a wonderful friend to your classmate. Leaders are emerging here in Room 148!

And the Attendance Award Goes to...

Guess who had the best attendance in the whole school last week? This awesome group of kiddos! I am so proud of each and every one of you for synergizing to accomplish this goal!

Valentines Day Party

We enjoyed a wonderful Valentine's Day party last Friday. Since we have been reading a ton of Willems books the last few weeks, we had a Mo Willems themed Valentines party. We ate hot dogs (The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog), chocolate chip cookies (The Duckling Gets a Cookie?!), and bananas (We Are in a Book!). The students also opened their Valentines cards in their Mo Willems mailboxes that they made.  They did an amazing job on their mailboxes! Check out some of the mailboxes below.

When I Am 100...

The students made 100 year old self portraits and wrote, "When I am 100..." on the 100th Day of School. Too cute!

Creative Recess

TiZyan and Frankie got creative at recess and made the first letter of each of their names with building materials. Great job, boys!

We celebrated the 100th day of school by decorating shirts revolving around the number 100! What a fun day!
